On Mother Earth: The Loss Of Hope

This poem is my contribution to Earth awareness  directed to people all over the world, most especially to the World superpowers who should have known better about how to contain carbon dioxide emissions which they ignore till now for shallow economic reasons at the expense of the environment and the Earth's inhabitants.

Oh, Mother Earth, your smile in
radiance, all was defaced and
your tears are rolling down your
cheeks from sunken eyes!

Your beauty has receded, almost
gone, as your children in sheer
wreck they have done unto you
orphaned they be and soon dead.

Grizzled now I see you in parched
meadows, brow wrinkled when
once with
succulent lips you
blowed us honeyed whispers.

A picture of innoncence will soon
haunt a dying populace, for seas
and land will be indistinguishable.
And rains shine and the sun falls!

We, your dark children, in remiss
keep assaulting your parting kiss
then with ugly rhyme will you say
good bye in throbs to our dismay!

My Mother Earth, forgive us our
sins yet that said, my heart aches
to feel you shake, my eyes mourn
your flood of tears, a dying morn!
